Blog and latest news...
Ok so you all know Debra loves Happy bamboo/nylon 4ply!
Well she has fallen in love all over again with this new 4ply - Italian Cotton (53%) Viscose.
Modern, yet oldy worldy colours and tweed textures. Very modern and luxurious baby clothes, or fantastic women's tops.
You have to knit this little yarn! And you will be in love too!
These are knitted in 2ply (2.5mm needles) – YES! Even people as blind as me can knit with 2ply and love it. I was looking for a warm glove, that my hand didn’t know was there! I experimented with several yarns and my absolute favourites are Naturally Lace (it has 40% angora) 2. Misty Alpaca 2ply and Malabrigo, baby silkpaca
This size fits a small to medium ladies hand. The length is fully adjusted for your hand as described within. ( If you want to be really tricky and clever, measure A and work out how many stitches you need based on the recommendation on the yarn label. Remember you want these gloves to be snug so err on the small side)......
Winiter jackets – from DD Gold
We have come up with a new must have item for knitters!
The “how knitters see sheep” winter jacket.
Of course you can choose your own style jacket but Debra is modelling her winter favourite – the Geneva.
These jacket come in black with collars and soft micro ribbed inner fleece in stunning Black/Red and Black/cyan, (and the boring old kiwi favourites Black/Grey, Grey/Black).
“This jacket is a real pleasure, especially teamed up with a matching scarf and beanie. email firstname.lastname@example.org to order yours.
Amuri Possum Yarn
What’s Hot? Amuri, and yes it is scrumishly good to wear – warm and soft.
Amuri -25% possum and 75% merino – this dk is so lovely, I knitted a sample then just had to start on my own fingerless gloves.
The pattern is N1211. These gloves will not be going in the shop – and I may just do the scarf too. At $19.80 a hank it’s a bit pricey but worth every penny, for a 50g ball you get 155m dk of luxury.
The light grey has a haze of darker possum and gives a beautiful contrast to any texture you knit in it. It is so yummy, Heather was using a hank to keep her hands warm when it came in! This hank has followed her home for a project just for her. This is one wool we knit for ourselves. And the patterns are classic chic. click here
If you haven’t knitted anything for yourself for a while, give it a try or it equally delicious cousin, Naturally Karamea.
We’re worth it, aren’t we? Debra
